One of the most exciting things about following baseball is just how often one can be surprised. After the 2007 season, the thought of Cliff Lee going 22-3 would have resulted mainly in laughter. Announcing 15 years ago that Jamie Moyer would be in baseball longer than Greg Maddux, John Smoltz, Pedro Martinez and Roger Clemens would have been grounds for an immediate vacation to your neighborhood psychiatric hospital. Joining these shockers is Jose Bautista, 54 home run hitter.
