Derrick Williams joins No. 1 conversation
With just two more weeks left in the college basketball regular season, our Top 100 is beginning to firm up. There is some slight jockeying here and there, but we're coming to the point where we can start to sum up the draft prospects' regular season.
Nevertheless, there's still time to move up the Big Board, and a few prospects have made major strides this week.
Here's a look at who scouts are buzzing about this week:
Derrick Williams, F, Arizona Wildcats
Top 100 Rank: No. 4
Williams has had one of the biggest jumps of anyone on our draft board this season. He came into the regular season ranked No. 26 on our Big Board but in late December had cracked the lottery, and a month ago we moved him into our Top 10. On Sunday we moved him all the way to No. 4. That's a huge leap for a guy who many scouts felt lacked the elite athleticism or size at his position to be a lottery pick.
To read why Chad Ford believes Derrick Williams is in the discussion for the No. 1 overall pick, plus why Markieff Morris may have passed his brother at Kansas and why Washington State's Klay Thompson is falling on the Big Board, you must be an ESPN Insider.
