Bullpen news: Andrew Bailey OK ... for now

Fantasy owners who have already invested in Oakland Athletics closer Andrew Bailey, either in recent drafts or as a keeper, breathed a huge sigh of relief earlier this week when the right-hander emerged from a meeting with noted Tommy John surgeon Dr. James Andrews not needing the common elbow procedure. Bailey left Monday's spring training game in what appeared the worst possible way, jumping up and down clutching his pitching elbow and then being helped off the field. In two of my on-going drafts, Brian Fuentes became a lot more popular.

But how should we view Bailey now? While many probably assumed a trip to see Dr. Andrews meant a major operation and the loss of Bailey's services until at least this time in 2012, this year's version of Minnesota Twins closer Joe Nathan if you will, the news of only a strained right forearm and not major ligament damage seemed positive.
