People, planning needed to broadcast tourney

Broadcasting 48 games from 16 sites around the country in four days is a massive undertaking. The women's NCAA tournament has been on ESPN since 2003, and it requires lots of people and an infinite amount of planning to pull it all off.

So what does it take to broadcast 48 games from 16 sites around the country in one four-day stretch?

People. Lots and lots of people. And an infinite amount of planning.

ESPN has been broadcasting the entire women's NCAA tournament since 2003, and it has varied broadcasting strategies over the years to try to engage viewers in compelling matchups beyond the most familiar teams.
