Second-half recoveries help Notre Dame, UCLA

No. 2 seed Notre Dame had a tough time with No. 15 seed Utah in the first half, but a strong charge in the second half sent the Irish to the next round. UCLA also used a strong second half to secure its victory.

For a time, Notre Dame looked like it was going to be the first No. 2 seed to fall in the history of the women's tournament. The Irish recovered for a 67-54 victory over Utah.

The Utes refused to go away in the first half, finding a way to the basket time and again while frustrating the Irish (27-7).
