Argentina is more than just Lionel Messi

Ahead of the U.S.'s high-profile friendly against Lionel Messi & Co. in New Jersey, we asked two of our Argentina-based colleagues to give us a scouting report on the post-Diego Maradona Albiceleste.

The takeaway? Saturday's tilt could be more wide-open than when these teams played to a scoreless draw, also in New Jersey, in June 2008. The U.S. needs to be wary of players other than FIFA's 2009 and '10 World Player of the Year.

According to ESPN Deportes' Diego Zorrilla, Argentina may have some issues in goal. With starter Sergio Romero still nursing an ankle injury, sometimes-shaky Mariano Andujar gets the call. Andujar last started for his country in 2009 and took some of the blame for a 3-1 home loss to archrival Brazil in World Cup qualifying.
