Mikie Mahtook swinging a hot bat
We're still weeks away from the top prospects solidifying their stocks and staking their claim to the top of the draft, but that hasn't stopped 10 first-round talents from standing out above the rest.
1. Mikie Mahtook, CF -- LSU
Mahtook started the season red hot and has maintained a consistent effort at the plate. He's hit for power and displayed an ability to play center field. He hit his seventh home run of the year Friday and finished the weekend 5-for-8 with two long balls.
Mahtook moved up 22 spots to No. 16 overall in the latest Future 50 and could be the second college bat off the board in June, likely behind Rice's Anthony Rendon.
