New Jersey nets another loss

In an NBA neighborhood rivalry, Carmelo Anthony had his second straight 39-point game to lead the New York Knicks to victory over the New Jersey Nets Wednesday night. Over in the NHL, the St. Louis Blues scored a whopping 10 goals against the second-place team in the Western Conference, the Detroit Red Wings. Here's what else you missed last night.

NBA: Carmelo Anthony had his second straight 39-point game, as New York beat neighboring New Jersey 120-116 Wednesday night at Madison Square Garden. Deron Williams had 22 points in his return after a six-game absence for an injured wrist, but he missed a tying jumper in the final seconds and appeared to be in pain after pursuing his missed shot. Wednesday's loss was the Nets' eighth in the their last nine games.
