Diamondbacks still seek bats at first, left
While I don't expect the Arizona Diamondbacks to contend in the National League West, the fact is they have an interesting offense. I've chosen a bunch of Diamondbacks in my many leagues, led by middle infielders Stephen Drew and Kelly Johnson, each of whom I think can improve, and center fielder Chris Young, who doesn't need to improve to retain major value. I've got Justin Upton in my overall top 25 and Miguel Montero seems underrated to me.
When it comes to Arizona's situation at first base and left field -- essentially, neither position has much clarity at this point -- I didn't think any of the options warranted attention in standard mixed leagues. However, in deeper formats I admit to having stashed a Russell Branyan here, a Juan Miranda there and in one league I picked up Brandon Allen over the weekend. I've hit the trifecta of Diamondbacks unwanted options, but will any of them matter?
