We've spent a lot of time passing on notes and reports on the top talents over the first six weeks of the amateur season, but there is a quality group of talents that come from colleges outside the major conferences, led by a pair of starting pitching prospects.

Anthony Meo, RHP -- Coastal Carolina

Keith Law scouted Coastal Carolina's Anthony Meo last month and came away impressed, noting that the right-hander displayed a first-round arsenal that included a mid-90s fastball and a hard slider that flashed as a plus pitch.

Meo went seven scoreless innings Friday against Liberty and allowed just two hits and two walks while striking out eight. The 6-foot-2, 190 pounder has yet to sustain a feel for a changeup but he gets some sink on his four-seamer and is likely to be taken sometime on Day 1, which consists of 60 selections this year.

Andrew Chafin, LHP -- Kent State
