Report: Team seeks government cash
OTTAWA -- The Toronto Blue Jays are seeking nearly a half-million dollars from the Canadian government after being forced to shift a series last year because of the G-20 summit.
The Canadian Press reported Thursday that the Blue Jays filed a claim for $470,854. The high-level, high-security meetings last June made the Blue Jays move a three-game set against the Phillies from Toronto to Philadelphia.
