Florida Marlins right-hander Ricky Nolasco tossed seven shutout innings and struck out eight Wednesday, winning his second game while lowering his ERA to 3.00 and his WHIP to 1.00. Nolasco seems perpetually in demand, and overrated; his ERA is 4.81 since 2009. His owners might want to sell high.

San Diego Padres outfielder Ryan Ludwick enjoyed Wednesday's doubleheader with the Chicago Cubs, going 5-for-8 with a home run, two doubles and two RBIs. Ludwick has struggled as a Padre, hitting .211 in 59 games last season and .200 this year. Still, there's a 20-homer bat lurking.
