Kansas City's onrush of royalty
The Royals' plan was for Eric Hosmer to get about 250 plate appearances in the minors this year, to continue his steady development. But it was Hosmer who changed that, Kansas City general manager Dayton Moore explained Thursday evening after the Royals had summoned Hosmer from the minors. It was Hosmer who wrecked those plans, by wrecking pitching in spring training and by being absurdly good in Triple-A, where he hit .439, with a .525 on-base percentage.
