Slumping Jorge Posada worth buying low

Now that the circus surrounding New York Yankees designated hitter Jorge Posada seems to have subsided -- and it was quite a circus -- it's time to address the elephant in the room. No, I don't mean how Posada is seemingly being punished in the lineup while shortstop Derek Jeter is not, but rather whether Posada still possesses any fantasy value whatsoever. Hey, this is a fantasy baseball blog, after all.

Posada enters Monday hitting .165, dead last among 192 qualified hitters. He has nary a base hit in 24 at-bats against left-handed pitching this season. Plus, his attitude was called into question Saturday, he's not a young man (in baseball terms, anyway), and it's not like his defensive skills are going to earn him additional playing time.
