Nearly 90 years ago, a group of politicians created a golf course across the river from Washington, D.C., in Bethesda, Md., with the expressed purpose of carving out a place where elected leaders and titans of industry could get together, away from boardrooms and offices, to foster a closer relationship and help steer the course of our great nation.
