• Oakland Athletics left-hander Josh Outman hurled seven innings of one-run ball in his season debut Monday, allowing five hits. Outman was struggling at Triple-A Sacramento, with 27 walks in 37 2/3 innings and a 4.78 ERA, but thrived against the Los Angeles Angels. Before missing all of 2010 with Tommy John surgery, he had a 3.48 ERA in a breakout 2009. There's upside here.
