USC beats UVa for men's tennis title

STANFORD, Calif. -- Daniel Nguyen made a shot to earn a break point, flipped off his hat, started taking off his shirt and then danced around the court until his Southern California teammates could reach him and pile on.

Nguyen downed Sanam Singh 7-5, 0-6, 6-4 to give Southern California a 4-3 victory over Virginia for the Trojans' third straight NCAA men's tennis title Tuesday.

They became the first three-time defending champions since Stanford won four straight from 1995-98.
