The first half of the grind is over. My journey concluded in West Virginia at the Hoop Group West Virginia Jam Fest.

1. McKenzie Moore is available and talented
Whenever you see an available senior with high-major potential this time in the recruiting calendar, you go through a checklist. 1) Is he qualified? 2) Is he up on any state or federal charges? Seriously, when top players are available this late, there's always a story. Meet McKenzie Moore (Pleasant Hills, Calif./College Park).

This is a potential 6-foot-5 point guard and guess what? He's qualified and will play college basketball next year for someone. The story goes something like this: Moore had a tough home life. Nothing too serious, but he grew up far from having a silver spoon in his mouth. His mother was ill and he was getting by. School wasn't a priority until Team 94 coach Phil Handy got involved in his life near the middle part of his high school career.
