It is strange that a sport so obviously dangerous as freestyle motocross tends to have a relatively low number of injuries to its competitors. These riders are technicians, and they spend hours perfecting the minutiae of jumps and tricks. Repetition and repeatability are their stock in trade and it's rare for any of the top performers to make a big gamble. Nevertheless, 2011 has seen more breaks than a union staff room, and these breaks don't include donuts and coffee.
