Editor's note: WeAreSC recruiting editor Erik McKinney will rank the Trojans' commitments from 10-1 according to the importance of each to the 2012 roster. Prospect No. 8 is fullback Jahleel Pinner.

Anytime coaches can go out and get a commitment from the top player in the country at his position, they're excited. When that player just happens to attend high school at a local power and play a position of utmost importance to your football program, they're ecstatic.

With so many high school and college offenses moving toward the spread and zone read offenses, fullback has become an endangered position. But that didn't stop Mission Viejo fullback Jahleel Pinner from impressing USC Recruiting Coordinator Ed Orgeron enough during a spring visit that Orgeron immediately extended a scholarship offer and accepted a verbal commitment from the 6-foot, 230-pound back.
