Rangers' Curtis turned down in Olympic quest

Texas Rangers outfielder Chad Curtis offered to forfeit the final month of his salary for an opportunity to play in the Olympics next month in Australia, but Sandy Alderson of the commissioner's office says "the spirit of the rule" prohibits Curtis from being able to play.
