Joel Foreman gives up starting spot
Michigan State senior Arthur Ray Jr., who was diagnosed with leg cancer shortly after signing with the Spartans in 2007 and had never played a college game, started at left guard Friday night against Youngstown State.
Ray got the call after senior Joel Foreman, an All-Big Ten performer who had started 22 straight games, asked the coaching staff to let Ray take his place.
