Illinois owns a pair of 2013 pledges

Illinois coach Bruce Weber got in his car on Sept. 9 alongside assistant Jerrance Howard and set about surveying the landscape of Illinois. At 6:30 a.m., on the first day of the contact period, the Big Ten skipper was there to see ESPNU 60 SG Malcolm Hill (Belleville, Ill./East), who was offered by Illinois at the end of his sophomore year. After last weekend, Hill was ready to commit. Illinois had pursued him harder than anyone else prior to his junior season.
