Analyzing UK's enigmatic Terrence Jones
One of the surprises of last year's NBA draft process was the return of Kentucky's Terrence Jones.
The 6-foot-9 lefthander from Portland, Ore., was coming off a freshman season in which he averaged 11.2 points, 6.5 rebounds and 1.9 blocks per game. Jones had some spectacular moments in his rookie college season, but issues of maturity remained. Was he a worker and a leader? Did he have the toughness to fight through fatigue and strive to get better?
Jones would have been a first-round selection but not likely a lottery pick in last year's relatively weak NBA draft. Instead, he decided to return to Lexington, fresh off a Final Four for the Wildcats, for the chance to play with another stellar crop of talent and perhaps win a championship. But the results he's turned in to this point have been mixed. Can he find some consistency to help his stock, and his team, before the end of the season?
