Did alternate Harman miss his chance?

PONTE VEDRA BEACH, Fla. -- At about 8:50 a.m. ET on Thursday, Brian Harman was in a heated game of ping pong with his caddie, John Davenport, in the TPC Sawgrass clubhouse, when he got a call from PGA Tour officials that he had missed the 8:39 am tee time on the No. 1 tee.

Harman, a 25-year-old rookie and the first alternate to get into the Players field, had been at the course since 7 a.m., hoping that someone might pull out. He got his wish when D.A. Points withdrew, citing a back injury. ...
