Belgian Gathy wins massive $1K

The first $1,000 buy-in event of the 2012 World Series of Poker attracted the largest single-day entry field to date with 2,799 players spending a dime for their shot at WSOP glory and an incredible return on investment. Michael Gathy, a 23-year-old online professional poker player from Belgium, turned his lottery ticket into a bracelet, winning the event after more than 36 hours of competition.
