Palumbo becomes sixth Italian bracelet winner in WSOP history

If you're going to fly to Las Vegas from Genoa, Italy, you need to do something pretty major to justify the expense. Italian professional poker player Rocco Palumbo went above and beyond.

Event 44, $1,000 no-limit hold 'em, started with 2,949 runners and when all was said and done, it was Palumbo who was left standing, wearing his brand new gold bracelet and holding the check for $464,464. He was the first Italian to win a WSOP bracelet since Max Pescatori in 2008.
