Marlins already rebuilding again
No team had more at stake when this season began than the Miami Marlins, who had tried to change almost everything about their team: A new ballpark, new roster, new colors, new uniform, new manager. Other teams have gone through makeovers in the past, but not to the extreme that we saw with the Marlins last winter.
Now, less than five months in, the Marlins are acknowledging the disaster that is their season. Sources within Major League Baseball say that the team's attendance at Marlins Park is about 25 percent less than the team expected, and the fact that the Marlins asked for cash in a possible trade of Carlos Lee last week is a sign of larger concerns.
