San Diego Padres right-hander Casey Kelly won his major league debut Monday, tossing six innings of three-hit shutout ball. Kelly, a prize from the Adrian Gonzalez trade to the Boston Red Sox, missed much of this season because of elbow inflammation, but at three levels of the minors, his ERA was 3.35, with three walks and 39 strikeouts. Because he pitches in Petco Park, Kelly is a viable spot starter the rest of the season.
