B.J. Upton's power, Guthrie's hot streak

• Tampa Bay Rays outfielder B.J. Upton smacked three solo home runs Sunday against the Texas Rangers, giving him 21 on the season. Upton is a pending free agent, and while he has generally been a reliable producer of homers and stolen bases, since 2009 he has also been a consistent batting average killer. Now 28, there's little reason to expect different no matter where he ends up in 2013.
