Robinson first to win both AL and NL MVP

Eleven months after being traded from the Cincinnati Reds to the Baltimore Orioles, Frank Robinson becomes the only player to ever be voted the MVP in both leagues when he is a unanimous choice by the Baseball Writers' Association of America for the American League award.
The righthanded slugger, who had won the National League MVP in 1961 with the Reds, had a Triple Crown season with the Orioles, batting .316 average with 49 homers and 122 runs batted in. ...
