Baylor breaks own record, scores 71 points

The previous year, the Lakers' last in Minneapolis, acrobatic forward Elgin Baylor set an NBA record by scoring 64 points. Tonight, early in the Lakers' first season in Los Angeles, the 6-foot-5 Baylor breaks his own mark by scoring 71 points in a 123-108 victory over the New York Knicks at Madison Square Garden.
