Erik Compton earns career-best finish
PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. -- Erik Compton cost himself some money with a ball in the water at the 18th green on Sunday at the Honda Classic, but he still posted his best finish on the PGA Tour, a tie for fourth, 6 strokes behind winner Michael Thompson.
Compton, 33, is in his second year on the PGA Tour after enduring a second heart transplant operation in 2008. He lost his card last year but got it back at Q-School.
