Wolverines get a hard-fought win
Tuesday night's Ohio State-Michigan game was a real battle.
I felt that, after Saturday's loss to Indiana, this was a must-win situation for the Wolverines. With the next two games at Wisconsin and at Michigan State, this was an important win for John Beilein's team.
Tim Hardaway Jr. was outstanding, hitting a number of trifectas in the second half. Trey Burke ran the show on offense, controlled tempo and hit a big three-pointer in overtime. He showed why he is among the creme de la creme in college basketball this season.
Thad Matta's kids were so resilient, so tough, coming back time after time. Their reward is a game against Indiana next.
It was a wild game with several memorable plays late. I was surprised by a foul call against Aaron Craft not being called flagrant. The officials wanted the game to be decided on the court.
I also felt there was a no-call on the game's final play that I felt was a foul.
Give Craft a lot of credit for his defensive effort. My friends, he is one of the leading candidates for National Defensive Player of the Year.
The fans of the Maize and Blue got a big win in an important situation.
That's life in the Big Ten, baby! You have to come out and lace them up every night.
