FAVRE BREAKS MONTANA'S RECORD
Brett Favre set an NFL record when he threw a first-quarter touchdown pass to Visanthe Shiancoe. Favre threw 442 touchdown passes for the Packers and has now thrown one against the Packers, breaking the NFL record for most TD passes thrown for a team before throwing one against that team. The previous record was held by Joe Montana, who threw 244 touchdown passes for the 49ers before throwing one against the 49ers in 1994.

FAVRE LOVES THE DOME
Brett Favre threw three touchdown passes Monday night, his tenth consecutive game of at least two touchdown passes at the Metrodome. That's the longest such streak for any quarterback at any NFL venue since Kurt Warner threw two-or-more TD passes in 12 straight regular-season games at the Edward Jones Dome from 1999 to 2000.

JARED ALLEN SETS MONDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL RECORD
Jared Allen had a career high 4 1/2 sacks in the Vikings' win. That's the most sacks any player has ever had in a Monday Night Football game since sacks for individual players were first recorded officially in 1982. One of Allen's sacks was for a safety, his third safety since the start of the 2008 season. Allen is the first player in NFL history to be credited with three safeties over a two-year span.

RODGERS SACKED
Aaron Rodgers has been sacked 20 times in Green Bay's four games this season. That's the most sacks for any Packers quarterback in the first four games of the season since 1963 when sacks against individual quarterbacks were first kept. Lynn Dickey was sacked 19 times in the team's first four games of the 1981 season.

WHERE'S THE PARITY?
The Vikings are now 4-0, joining the Giants, Saints, Colts and Broncos in that club. It's only the third time in NFL history that there are five 4-0 teams in the same season. It also happened in 1968 (Cowboys, Colts, Rams, Raiders and Giants) and 2003 (Panthers, Broncos, Colts, Chiefs and Vikings).

FINLEY RUMBLES FOR A TD

CARPENTER WINS N.L. COMEBACK PLAYER OF THE YEAR AWARD
Chris Carpenter (17-4) won the National League Comeback Player of the Year Award. Carpenter, who did not win a game in 2007 or 2008, is the first non-rookie pitcher in major-league history to win 17-or-more games in a season after pitching and not winning a game in either of the previous two seasons.
TIGERS AND TWINS REST BEFORE BIG GAME
After taking Monday off, The Tigers and Twins will battle on Tuesday for the A.L. Central Division crown. This is only the second time in MLB history that a regular-season tie-breaker will be played after a day off for both teams. Brooklyn and St. Louis were tied after the final Sunday of the 1946 season. The Dodgers traveled to St. Louis to play Game 1 of a best-of-three series on Tuesday, and then the teams headed to Brooklyn for Game 2 on Thursday. The Cardinals won both games.

YOUNG DEFENSEMAN SCORES AGAINST BRODEUR
Michael Del Zotto scored a goal for the Rangers against Martin Brodeur Monday night. Del Zotto (19 years, 103 days old) is the youngest defenseman ever to score a goal against Brodeur. The only other teenage defenseman to score a goal against Brodeur was Columbus' Rotislav Klesla (19 years, 264 days old) in 2001.

TWO ROOKIE DEFENSEMEN SCORE FOR RANGERS
Defenseman Matt Gilroy, the 2009 Hobey Baker Award winner with Boston University, scored the first goal of his NHL career to break a 2-2 tie late in the second period and the Rangers made that goal stand up for a 3-2 win in New Jersey. Gilroy and Michael Del Zotto, who scored the Rangers' first goal of the game, are the first pair of rookie defensemen to score goals in the same game for the Rangers since March 25, 1990, when the long since forgotten duo of Jeff Bloemberg and Miroslav Horava scored against the Flyers.
