CARDINALS FALL BACK TO .500
From Elias: The Cardinals fell to 4-4 with their loss to the 49ers on Monday, making them only the third team in NFL history to win their first four games and then lose the next four. The other teams to do that were the 1993 Eagles (who finished 8-8 with Rich Kotite as head coach) and 2002 Raiders (who went 7-1 the rest of the way and made it to the Super Bowl).
49ERS STOP CARDINALS RUNNING GAME
From Elias: The 49ers held the Cardinals to seven rushing yards on Monday, the lowest total for any team in any game over the last three seasons. That tied the lowest total of rushing yards ever allowed by San Francisco (the Saints had seven on Oct. 1, 1972) and it was the lowest for the Cardinals since they had negative-1 yards on Oct. 18, 1953 against the Giants at the Polo Grounds.
