Oakland Coliseum and Husky Stadium, 1981

The conception and the birth of the wave.

A cheerleader named Krazy George started the wave during an Athletics playoff game Oct. 15, 1981, but it didn't start spreading until students at Husky Stadium began doing it, first in the Stanford game two weeks later. Huskies fans didn't know about the Krazy George wave at the time. I know this because I was in the student section when we started doing it. And for helping start the wave, I apologize.
