San Diego Chargers kicker Nate Kaeding was matter-of-fact about missing three field goals on Sunday against the New York Jets.
"I didn't kick it between the uprights," Kaeding said.
This had been a career year for the All-Pro Kaeding. He made 32-of-35 field-goal attempts during the regular season and his 91.4 percent conversion rate led the league. He also established himself as the most accurate field goal kicker in NFL history among players with more than 100 kicks, and entered the playoffs having made 20 consecutive field goals.
"I've missed field goals before and been able to come back and execute the next one, so that's part of the deal," Kaeding said. "You're charged with the responsibility of putting the ball through the uprights regardless of whether you made the last one or you missed it. I missed them all."
Nate, try this game to help you practice.
