John Daly, Dan Marino highlight charity tourney

My career is looking so bleak."

That's John Daly joking around while strumming a guitar at the 10th hole of the 16th annual Monday After The Masters celebrity pro-am golf tournament in North Myrtle Beach, S.C.

The enigma Daly, who is preparing for this week's Verizon Heritage tournament in Hilton Head Thursday, spent Monday helping his friend Darius Rucker and the Hootie and the Blowfish raise money for children's charities.

"I'm having a great time and this is for a good cause," Daly said.

Daly, who has won two major golf tournaments but also has struggled with his own personal demons, was a man of few words Monday. He was focusing on his golf game.

Daly is returning to the course this week under a sponsor's exemption for the Verizon Heritage PGA Tour event at Harbour Town Golf Links on Hilton Head Island. He's been busy recently, taping his weekly show called "Being John Daly" for Golf Channel and selling John Daly-inspired merchandise at the Masters last week.

But, on Monday, it was all about the charity tournament for Daly, and he was teamed with NFL Hall of Famer Dan Marino.
