Playboy model Pamela Anderson was sent home Tuesday night in ABC's "Dancing with the Stars", but the real story was that ESPN personality Erin Andrews was in the bottom two.
Andrews, teamed with dancer Maksim Chmerkovskiy, have been flying high the past several weeks and appeared shocked that the fans almost eliminated them.
Even the judges were surprised.
"You shouldn't be in the bottom two," judge Bruno Tonioli said. And judge Carrie Ann Inaba said she expected Andrews to "be one of the last ones standing."
Now there are only five couples remaining with figure skating Evan Lysacek, singer Nicole Scherzinger, actress Niecy Nash, football Chad Ochocinco, along with Andrews, as the only celebrities remaining.
"I've always been concerned about my fan base," Andrews said earlier in the season. "My fans are men, and this show really caters to the women viewers."
Chmerkovskiy said no matter how hard you try to impress the judges, "it's all about what the fans think of you. They are the ones who are deciding whether you stay or go home."
Oh, and Tuesday was Andrews' birthday. She turned 32. What a present.
