Adam Richman, host of The Travel Channel's "Man v. Food," turned 36 on May 16 but feels "like I'm 7 years old."
Richman will head to Yankee Stadium on Wednesday night to see New York play the Phillies as a guest of Yankees pitcher Joba Chamberlain.
That opportunity was afforded to him when the two became friends on Richman's show. Wednesday also marks the Season 3 premiere of the eating-challenge show.
"I'm just living the dream," said Richman, a lifelong Yankees fan who grew up in Brooklyn and went to Yale School of Drama. "It's baffling sometimes."
Richman has become a cult figure on television for taking on eating challenges and introducing America to everyday restaurants. He met Chamberlain and his family on a TV shoot in Brooklyn last season for a "suicide wings" challenge. On Wednesday's broadcast, Richman will take on eating challenges in San Diego and Boulder, Colo.
"Even I'm still amazed when I see a text message and it says, 'Joba Chamberlain' and he is setting aside tickets for me," Richman said. "I can't believe it. I got a chance to see the clubhouse before. I got to meet my favorite living Yankee, Mariano Rivera. I also got to party in the Playboy Mansion. Me and Hef were wearing black velvet jackets. I'm one lucky fella."
