Tiger Woods needs your help.
Just look at those numbers: 74-72-75-77. That's 298 -- the worst 72-hole total of his PGA Tour career. Of course that's partly because the just-completed WGC-Bridgestone Invitational at his formerly beloved Firestone Country Club is a rare event in that it does not have a 36-hole mercy cut. That forced Tiger to literally hang around until early Sunday afternoon before escaping onto his private jet.
What should he do? One thing he should do is make room on his jet for Henrik Stenson. who kept Tiger from finishing dead last by taking 300 strokes to finish his 72 holes. Taking Henrik with him to the PGA Championship this week would be our first tip.
Or maybe he should get advice from Phil Mickelson. No, wait. Phil shot 78 on Sunday. Never mind.
That leaves you. Tiger needs your help. And that means we have the topic for this week's do-it-yourself Top Ten list: "Top Ten Tips for Tiger Woods."
What would your advice be? And we are not looking for ways of correcting his swing or how he grips his putter. You know us. We like funny. We like sarcastic. We like cutting. But if you want to make the list, don't be dirty. Dirty won't make it. It's a fine line, so walk it.
You know the drill. Send your tips (one or more) to firstname.lastname@example.org. Please include your first name, the initial of your second name and your location. You have until noon Wednesday. The list will be printed here on Thursday.
