Shot over two years at the world's best surf spots from Australia to California, "Leave a Message" is an all-women's surf movie depicting athletes Carissa Moore, Lakey Peterson, Laura Enever, Coco Ho, Monyca Byrne-Wickey and Malia Manuel. The trailer is posted above, and the movie will be fully downloadable May 24.
Page 2 caught up with the Australian Enever to ask about this project:
1. What was it like to be part of this movie?
"It was an incredible experience! I cant wait for it to come out. We have the most amazing and talented team, so being a part of the team and this movie is actually an honor for me. Myself, Coco, Monyca, Carissa, Malia and Lakey are all really good friends so making the movie was just constant laughs, fun and good times, everywhere we went. Hope everyone likes the movie, it purely shows the 6 of us girls being ourselves, and what we love doing best!"
2. How do get the masses interested into surfing who aren't near a coast?
"Movies like this! I really hope that 'Leave A Message' will reach people that live all over the world near and far from the ocean. I think the movie is just as much an inspiration as well as an action movie. It really shows the world who we are as women and where we are trying to take women's surfing as a sport -- UP!"
3. What does it feel like to be on the water?
"To be in the ocean everyday is an incredible feeling and I don't think I would be able to live without it. It's indescribable and I wish everyone could feel it. Surfing a wave is also indescribable. Im so lucky to have such an amazing lifestyle and being able to travel from ocean to ocean surfing, I definitely don't take it for granted!"
