We're only a few hours away from the NFL draft, and fans still have a chance to get a phone call from an NFL rookie. All you need to do is go to National Football League Players Association Facebook page and say who your favorite team likely will select in the first round.
"I hope it's me! It'd be awesome to talk to someone who loves watching me play," said University of California defensive end Cameron Jordan, who will likely be picked in the first round. "I'm ready to get back on the field and I'd love to talk to the fans."
The player will make a call on Friday as part of the "NFLPA Rookie debut", a three-day event involving current and former players such as Jordan, Cam Newton, Mark Ingram, Sam Bradford, Maurice Jones-Drew, Eric Dickerson and Warren Moon, among others.
The NFLPA calls its weekend event "a celebration of legacy -- of past, present and future football players coming together to honor those making the journey from prospect to professional."
For Jordan, he's ready for his name to be called to the state Thursday night.
"I have no idea what's going on in my head right now," said Jordan, whose father played 12 years in the NFL. "Maybe when I walk into the green room, I'll start to get nervous. I've been looking for this all my life."
