Hope Solo's run on ABC's "Dancing with the Stars" is over.
On Tuesday night, soccer star Solo and partner Maks Chmerkovskiy were sent packing, leaving talk show host Ricki Lake, reality star Rob Kardashian and soap star/war veteran J.R. Martinez left to fight it out for the mirrorball trophy.
"This competition is one of the toughest competitions I've ever been a part of," said Solo, who has been arguing with judges over the past few weeks on her scores. "Instead of trying to win a mirrorball trophy, I'm going to try to win a gold medal this summer at the Olympics."
Solo became a household name this past summer as the goalkeeper for the U.S. soccer team, which made a strong run in the women's World Cup, only to fall short. Now, Solo will begin training for next summer's Olympics.
And Solo's partner, Chmerkovskiy, will likely be back in the spring for the next edition of the show.
"I'm sorry," Chmerkovskiy said. "I wish I could have done better for you. But it is what it is."
