Here's the question: If you saw Jeremy Lin on the street, would you "Tebow" in his honor?
Would Tim Tebow "Tebow" in his honor?
Last year's most-discussed sports pairing was Kris Humphries and Kim Kardashian. That didn't last 73 days. This year it's Lin and Tebow, or should it be Tebow and Lin? Either way, the connections of their unexpected professional success and overt Christian faith are obvious to all.
Businessinsider.com reported that Lin has surpassed Tebow in Internet popularity. Of course, Tebow's NFL season is over while Lin's NBA success is happening now.
We know what Lin thinks about Tebow, as he talked about "his inspiration" on a San Francisco radio show just before putting 38 points on Kobe Bryant and the embarrassed Los Angeles Lakers in a 92-85 New York Knicks victory. (Tebow would have liked his Denver Broncos to score 38 against Tom Brady's New England Patriots but that didn't work out.)
"I've drawn actually a lot of inspiration just because he's such a polarizing figure, but I think the things he says in interviews, his approach to the game, is just unbelievable and I respect him so much," Lin said. "I actually want to be able to do some of the things that he does in terms of the amount of charity work and the non-profit work, and the way he impacts people off the field. I think that is what is most inspiring to me about him."
But what is Tebow thinking? That's what we want from you for this week's reader-generated list: "Top 10 Things Tebow Is Thinking About Lin."
Remember that we do "Letterman-like" lists that we hope create chuckles. Send your hopefully amusing contributions to firstname.lastname@example.org, including your first name, initial of your last name and your location. You have until noon Wednesday and the list appears here Thursday.
Yes, we would love to hear from the real "Tim T. of Denver." And "Jeremy L. of New York" is welcome to play, too, along with the rest of you.
