Carl Edwards, along with Texas Motor Speedway President Eddie Gossage, took part in a special training session with Sgt. Todd Plowman and members of Fort Worth's SWAT (Special Weapons And Tactics) team at the Fort Worth Police & Fire Training Center on Wednesday.
"It's a unique opportunity for someone like myself to come here and see what they go through," Edwards said. "I got just a little bit of time to talk to them about the things that are going through their minds while they're doing their jobs. I think the thing that struck me most is that all this training is about public safety and officer safety."
Edwards, who has posted three top-10 finishes in four Sprint Cup starts, will return to TMS to compete in the Sprint Cup Samsung Mobile 500 on April 14.
