At X Games Fox do Iguacu, veteran BMX Big Air competitor Kevin Robinson dropped in to kick off another year of competition, only to be carted off the MegaRamp in a stretcher, suffering from a mild concussion. Robinson recovered from his injury, but remained off the bike for X Games Barcelona and X Games Munich, choosing instead to man the microphone at both events during BMX events. As X Games Los Angeles approached, Robinson slowly made the announcement public — he was retiring from X Games competition following one last go in L.A. With runs pre-approved by his wife and doctor, Robinson dropped into the MegaRamp at Irwindale Raceway and finished the competition in one piece. It was a graceful bow out for one of the sport's most progressive BMX Big Air legends. Robinson now focuses on anti-bullying rallies at schools throughout the New England area.
