"This photo shoot was one of the first times in my life I actually felt comfortable in my own skin. I was a tomboy growing up, and kids used to make fun of my big thighs. With my genetics, I'm not going to be a size 4 or 6, and I need strong leg muscles to compete. But for this shoot, I worked out harder than normal and stuck to a disciplined eating plan.,I couldn't see the weight coming off, so I didn't feel a sense of accomplishment until I looked at the photos on set and saw the definition in my arms and legs. I thought, Wow, that's me? Bowlers aren't considered to be in great shape, and I wouldn't compare myself to a swimmer, but I spent the past three years working out to get stronger and better -- and it's all about being an athlete in your realm. I even do line dancing at my gym once or twice a week. It can be energizing as well as tiring, depending on whether you know all the songs."
