The Admiral. There's a reason they call him that. No, he never attained the rank of admiral, but the eventual basketball Hall of Famer was a standout at Navy, then served for two years as a civil engineering officer (lieutenant, junior grade) before resuming his hoops career with the San Antonio Spurs (who drafted him first overall, fully willing to wait).
